Theresa Beach Dyslexia Reading Tutor

I am a Literacy Intervention Specialist who works with students who are struggling to learn to read, write and spell. I work with children who are more than one or two years behind in reading skills, have diagnosed or suspected dyslexia or a family history of reading difficulties.

I tutor online but also provide the student with materials for a multi-sensory learning experience in all aspects of reading, including phonological awareness, spelling and cursive handwriting.

I use an Orton-Gillingham based method that is grounded in the science of reading, writing and spelling and has been used successfully to teach children the foundational skills for understanding the reading code in order to continue their journey to success in school and life.

I have a Master of Science and B.S. Ed in Communication Disorders from Western Carolina University, and specialized training in literacy (reading) intervention, grammar, phonological awareness, and language development. I have over 25 years of experience working with children ages 3 to 21.
